Jessica + Mitch | Washington, DC, Bridals
about the session
Not many people can say that their mom set them up on a blind date. Even fewer can say that they met their future spouse on that blind date! However, this was the case for Jessica and Mitch. Her mom gave Mitch pictures of her daughter, and he took her out on a simple hiking date that felt so comfortable to Jess. She immediately noticed how easy it was to talk to Mitch and how being with him just felt right. Time went on, and their love grew and grew.
They love cooking together, attending farmer’s markets, and just relaxing together. I love this couple’s story because it is so real. Romance and falling in love aren’t just about grand gestures and crazy stories. It is about everyday moments and choices that add up to create a bond that is unbreakable.
On the day of their engagement, they woke up to go on another hiking date. She was sure that the proposal was coming soon, so it surprised her that he didn’t ask her on the hike. They went home, and she took a nap while Mitch went to school. That evening, they went on a walk along a canal. There were so many little moments that Jessica thought he might propose and he didn’t, so she gave up and figured he must not be proposing that day. At the very end of their walk, however, he caught her off guard and popped the question. They went home to a hundred small candles, rose petals everywhere, and crème brûlée waiting on the table for them.
I am so happy for these two. We took their bridals at the Washington, DC, temple. The grounds were absolutely stunning, and we had so much fun exploring and finding beautiful backdrops for the photos. Mitch wore a light gray suit with pink suspenders that matched the rosy bouquet. Jessica’s dress is timelessly beautiful. She is a gorgeous bride, and Mitch could not take his eyes off her. I cannot wait for their wedding and the love-filled life that they have ahead of them.
